Rubber Magnets

Rubber magnets, also known as flexible magnets, are a type of magnet manufactured by blending ferrite magnetic powder with flexible synthetic rubber or polymer rubber which is then calendered to create strip, sheet, or roll. Bonded magnets can be classified to compression molded magnets, injection molded magnets, extruded magnets, and calendered magnets according to the molding technology, then flexible magnets are belonging to the extruded magnets. Due to its superior elasticity, flexibility, and machinability, rubber magnets can be easily produced into all kinds of shapes and sizes from a few millimeters to tens of meters by post processing like blanking, cut-off, punching, and bending. Flexible magnets are widely served for either civilian uses and industrial applications.

Rubber magnets can be laminated by colorful PVC, adhesive tape, or polychrome printing, then the most representative application of rubber magnets emerged. Fridge magnets, also known as refrigerator magnets, often attached to an artistic ornament, which may be utilized to post items like shopping lists, reminders, and child art on the refrigerator door, or which simply serves as decoration. Fridge magnets can be provided in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Some people also treat them as a popular souvenir and collectible objects. Due to the limitations of low magnetic performance, multi-pole magnetizing is introduced to enhance the pull force of fridge magnets.

Ring magnets which wound from pre-magnetized strip are much easier to achieve ultra multi-pole magnetizing in comparison with whole ring-shape magnets, and thus flexible magnets are also served for many fan motors and almost all of linear or rotary magnetic encoder. Besides traditional ferrite based magnets and isotropic Neodymium based magnets, SDM Magnetic can also provide Fe3B based rubber magnets which have high remanence Br and low intrinsic coercivity Hcj.
