As the second generation of rare earth permanent magnet, SmCo magnets are mainly composed of Samarium, Cobalt, and Iron. SmCo block magnets can be classified to 1:5 type and 2:17 type. SmCo block magnets have excellent resistance to corrosion, oxidation, high temperature, and demagnetization. It is still widely used in aerospace, automotive, and military applications. The most representative application of SmCo block magnets in SDM Magnetics is Maglev train magnets.
