Terbium is a rare earth metal that is malleable, ductile, and even soft enough to be cut via a knife. Terbium is also never found in nature as the simple substance but contained in many minerals like cerite, gadolinite, monazite, xenotime, and euxenite. Terbium can be used as dopant, crystal stabilizer, and giant magnetostrictive TbDyFe Terfenol-D. Enhancement effect of Terbium on intrinsic coercivity of Neodymium magnet is even better than Dysprosium and generally utilized for manufacture of double high magnets (high intrinsic coercivity and high energy products). Terbium reserves are less than Dysprosium, then Tb price would be dearer.
