Ι What Are Insert Molded Magnets?
Insert molding is a process in which a pre-made component—such as a metal part or permanent magnet—is placed into a mold and then encapsulated as molten plastic is injected around it. The result is a single, integrated part where the insert is firmly locked into the plastic, improving strength and reducing separate assembly and labor steps. Insert molded magnets, a type of plastic integrated magnet, are magnetic assemblies produced using this method.
By combining permanent magnets with molded plastic in one operation, insert molded magnets provide excellent durability, compact construction, and a secure bond between the magnet and surrounding material. They are widely used in civilian products, automotive sensors, electric motors, and consumer electronics, where accurate magnet positioning and reliable attachment are essential for stable, high-performance operation.
